Application
Suitable For
Tyre label materials are specially engineered to meet the distinct challenges posed by rubber surfaces, usually crafted from materials such as polypropylene film or a blend of paper and aluminum foil.
Label Materials
Paper is the most cost-effective label stock but offers limited durability. To enhance its resistance to environmental factors, it is advisable to apply a coating such as varnish or laminate. Depending on the printing method and type of paper, labels can resist smudging, moisture, and UV exposure, and can vary in texture and finish from smooth to rough or shiny to matte.
Pet (polyester) film – PET film is a highly durable polyester material ideal for labels exposed to harsh conditions. Although more expensive than paper, it offers complete recyclability, excellent flexibility, and strong resistance to environmental factors. PET is often chosen for labels that require a longer shelf life.
Vinyl is a very durable material, resistant to hot and cold weather, UV, chemicals, oils, moisture, etc. It is flexible and good for irregular-shaped packages. However, the process of disposing of vinyl materials is very expensive.
PVC is a vinyl material known for its versatility, durability, and flexibility. It is particularly suitable for shrink sleeve labels, which are applied over products and heated to shrink into place on the packaging.
Polypropylene – If printed and coated in a certain way, polypropylene labels can be as durable as vinyl or polyester ones, and resistant to most environmental factors (all except heat). Polypropylene is less costly than polyester.
Most of these materials can easily be die-cut into a shape of your choice.
Finishes
The post-printing process is equally important in label production. It involves adding different types of finishes to the label to make it more durable, shelf-stable or visually appealing.
Lamination – adding a protective gloss or matte layer to your label for added resistance to moisture, light, abrasion, etc.
Varnish – clear liquid coating, less expensive than lamination, but provides less protection
Foil stamping – way of printing using different tools, where a thin layer of color is pressed upon the label surface
Embossing – method of creating a raised or relief image on the label’s surface
These methods can be combined to give your label a sophisticated, rich look.

Self Adhesive Options
Label stock
Magnum offers a wide choice of standard paper and film materials suited for all conventional printing methods, as well as special materials for individual requirements and special applications.
Adhesives
Adhesives for any material – Water based acrylic or hot melt adhesives based on either rubber or UV cured acrylate. Adhesion options are permanent, semi-permanent, or removable without any residue. Some of our standard adhesives are ISEGA-certified for direct contact with foodstuffs.
Release liner
HERMA Glassine and Kraft papers and PET liners offer ideal properties for processing on all standard flat bed and rotary die cutting machines. They can be used for labelling machines with optical or mechanical scanning.
